South India Spiritual Tour Package: 6 Nights 7 Days Pilgrimage Journey

Madurai Kodaikanal Ooty Wayanad Coimbatore 6 days 5 nights hill station tour package

Few pilgrimage circuits cover as much sacred ground as this one. This 6 Nights / 7 Days South India Spiritual Tour package moves through five of the region’s most revered temple towns — starting at Tirupati, home to one of the richest and most-visited temples on earth, and closing at Trivandrum, where the legendary Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple stands. In between, it threads through Madurai’s Meenakshi Amman Temple, the Jyotirlinga at Rameswaram, and Kanyakumari’s meeting point of three seas.

This is a genuinely well-built itinerary for pilgrims and families who want a single, organized trip covering Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala’s most important spiritual sites, without piecing together separate trips to each state.

Day-Wise South India Spiritual Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tirupati

Your pilgrimage begins the moment you arrive in Tirupati, where our representative will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in and a short rest, ease into the trip with a few of the town’s smaller but significant temples:

  • Padmavathi Ammavari Temple — dedicated to the consort of Lord Venkateswara, traditionally visited before Tirumala darshan
  • Kapila Theertham & Kapileswara Swamy Temple — a Shiva temple set beside a waterfall at the base of the Tirumala hills
  • ISKCON Temple — a Krishna temple known for its peaceful evening aarti
  • Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple — a large Vishnu temple right in the heart of Tirupati town. Spend the evening at leisure or browsing Tirupati’s local markets.

Overnight: Tirupati

Day 2: Tirumala Darshan

An early breakfast sets you up for a full day at Tirumala, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world.

  • Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple — the central shrine, drawing millions of pilgrims annually to seek darshan of Lord Venkateswara
  • Varahaswamy Temple — traditionally visited before the main temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu’s boar incarnation
  • Papavinasanam — a sacred waterfall believed to wash away sins
  • Akasha Ganga — another significant water source on the hill, considered holy
  • S.V. Museum — displaying temple artifacts, historical sculptures, and religious art connected to the Tirumala temple’s long history. Return to Tirupati for the night.

Overnight: Tirupati

Day 3: Tirupati to Madurai

After breakfast, check out and begin the drive toward Madurai, one of South India’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. On arrival, check in and head straight into sightseeing:

  • Meenakshi Amman Temple — a vast temple complex dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar, known for its towering, intricately sculpted gopurams
  • Koodal Azhagar Temple — an ancient Vishnu temple mentioned in classical Tamil literature, notable for its rare three-tiered sanctum housing three forms of the deity

Overnight: Madurai

Day 4: Madurai to Rameswaram

After breakfast, check out and take in more of Madurai’s heritage before heading east:

  • Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace — a 17th-century palace known for its massive pillared courtyard
  • Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple — one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan, carved into a hillside

From here, the drive continues to Rameswaram, crossing the iconic Pamban Sea Bridge — India’s first sea bridge and still an engineering landmark connecting the mainland to Rameswaram island. Check in on arrival.

Overnight: Rameswaram

Day 5: Rameswaram to Kanyakumari

After breakfast, spend the morning covering Rameswaram’s major pilgrimage sites:

  • Agni Theertham — the shoreline where pilgrims traditionally bathe before entering the temple
  • Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, famous for its 1,200-metre corridor, among the longest of any temple in India
  • Dhanushkodi — the abandoned ghost town at the tip of the peninsula, destroyed by a 1964 cyclone and never rebuilt
  • Ram Setu View Point — overlooking the chain of limestone shoals linked in legend to the bridge built by Lord Rama’s army

Later, drive to Kanyakumari, India’s southernmost point. Time your arrival for the evening to catch the sunset at Sunset Point — one of the country’s most spectacular, set over the meeting of three seas.

Overnight: Kanyakumari

Day 6: Kanyakumari to Trivandrum

After breakfast, cover Kanyakumari’s remaining landmarks before crossing into Kerala:

  • Kumari Amman Temple — dedicated to the virgin goddess Kanyakumari, right by the shoreline
  • Vivekananda Rock Memorial — built on a rock islet where Swami Vivekananda is said to have meditated in 1892, reached by a short ferry
  • Thiruvalluvar Statue — a 133-foot statue of the Tamil poet-philosopher standing beside the memorial
  • Gandhi Memorial — built at the spot where Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were kept before immersion
  • Triveni Sangam — the actual meeting point of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean

Later, drive to Trivandrum, Kerala’s capital. En route or on arrival, visit the renowned Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple — one of the richest temples in the world, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, with a striking seven-storey gopuram. Check in to your hotel for the night.

Overnight: Trivandrum

Day 7: Departure from Trivandrum

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Trivandrum Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey — with six nights and seven days of temple corridors, sacred waters, and three converging seas behind you.
